Title: Front brake pads
Post by: guest589 on January 21, 2009, 04:01:09 PM
Hi there,
Just changed the front pads on my 04 jazz. Must say they were the most simple ones I have done to date. For the record I had managed to make them last for 22,000 miles of mixed driving.
Total cost £24. Not bad when Honda want £83 !

Manual or CVT?

I'm having my wheels off at Easter (weather permitting....!) to check my brake pads. My Jazz should be around 20k by then.

The only time I replaced brake pads was at 33k on a Hyundai.

Well if its a CVT then the brake pads aren't gonna last as long as on a manual.

Purely because CVT's use them more than a manual.

The good news is that if you tailor your driving style to save fuel you will also save money on brake pads and tyres, and your road manners will also improve :)

My brake pads lasted just over 30,000miles.

I've had 45,000 miles out of a set of front pads on a previous GD, not had GE's long enough yet, re: other posts on tyre wear, average 30,000 to 35,000 miles for front tyres (mostly long motorway journeys).
