Ive recently bought a new Jazz 1.4 CVT and noticed that if I'm on an incline and put the car in reverse and do not put my foot on the throttle, the car rolls forward, is this common/usual ? Ive had several automatic's before (not Honda) and if anything the car will go slowly in reverse.

Yes, that's fine. The clutch doesn't engage until you rev up a bit.

ok, thanks for that, wife was a bit worried today :)

Sounds obvious - but hold it on the handbrake if you are stopped on the hill..
This will use less fuel and wear the gear clutch mech less.

I thought the 2012 CVT had a torque convertor which removes the need for a starting clutch?

I don't know if it has - but even a torque converter should be used in conjunction with a Handbrake on a hill.
Personally I always prefer good old manual trasnmissions - know where I am with them LOL
