My car has no remote fob/keys and I do open all doors from the driver's side since it's still central locking.
I have noticed that the key was becoming stiff to go into the key hole in the last few weeks but it would not go in at all since yesterday.
I managed to open all doors once yesterday through the booth lock which never worked for me but even that is not working again.
Has anyone experienced this and what should be next step to resolve this please ???
Thanks

if I'm not mistaken there is a lock on passenger side as well, which opens all doors.
obviously u can buy a fob off ebay for £15-20 and program it to your vehicle yourself(turning key in ignition in special sequence and pressing buttons on the fob)

Are you saying it is possible to remotely open the doors if I buy a fob and get it programmed?
Also, should I be able to open from the passenger side? Because I always open all doors using the key from the driver's side, I have not tried it from the passenger side in the past.
Also, should the booth open all the doors or just itself?
Thanks

Get a locksmith to disassemble and reassemble the lock. I have seen it where idiots insert something (an ice-cream stick) into the lock and leave bits behind, or else an inept theft attempt
-
Thanks. I was thinking probably someone has tampered with it and you can be right. I reckon I should be able to take it to a garage instead of Honda for checks!

I did it for my 2002 1.4SE, not sure about other models, I guess it should be a standard as of 21st century :)
I did not like idea of using key each time, ordered few more keys, there is a topic on here "replacement keys"

yeah, all 3 locks open all locks(at least on my car)

Not garage, a locksmith.

hi I'm having the same problem drivers door not working with key and I am thinking of going keyless do I need the whole thing including the control unit or do I just need the key fob? thanks in advance

Keyless is fine until the remote stops working. Murphy's law asserts that this will occur when you are in a remote spot 100km from home with no mobile phone reception.
I own a locksmiths shop and they fix 10 car door locks a day. This is an ongoing problem. Not many Hondas, but plenty of Fords, Nissans and Toyotas. 80% due to theft attempts and 20% due to the owner forcing an incorrect key into the lock.
You must have a backup, so I would recommend getting it fixed.
If you change the cylinder, you can keep the remote part as the metal key part attaches to it.

Have you tried just spraying WD40 into the key hole and working the lock. Before the days of remotes this is what us olds did to remedy sticky locks

I think I might just have a solution to this now....
I have met this guys through ebay who sell the REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY CENTRAL LOCKING KIT for HONDA JAZZ CRV for just £25.
That cheap but since I can't fit/install it, he has introduced me to another guy (auto-electrician) who will fit it for £75.
I have been leaving my car unlocked which can be very serious if people spot that they can enter.
The other day that I spoke to Honda, they were quoting around £130 for the parts alone and even if they replace the barrell or tumbler of whatever, from other's experience, it can happen again.
As this model 1.4 S do not come with remote key, if the guys install this and it works properly, it could be what I have been wanting for sometime ...for £100

Is it the same as this one: http://www.hawkcaralarm.com/UniversalUpgradeRemoteKeylessForCentralLock.aspx (http://www.hawkcaralarm.com/UniversalUpgradeRemoteKeylessForCentralLock.aspx)?

No, it is this one - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320655446497&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123
Anybody used any of the 2 for a feedback.....as I have got an appointment to do it at their workshop tomorrow!

I should install mine tomorrow if it is not raining.

A remote is def the answer. Suits us lazy buggers. I got a remote garage door motor 20 years ago to make sure my wife parked inside the garage. If we left the car outside these huge Ibis birds we have here sit on the tree above and drop pudding sized poos on the car, usually on the windscreen

All,
I got my keyless central locking fitted on Saturday and so far, it has been EXCELLENT and just unbelievable!
I picked up the kit itself for just £24.99 but the fittings was obviously alot since I am not good at auto-DIY.
But if the kit will cost only that little, the car manufacturers like Honda must be crazy not to make such "important" thing a standard even considering their locks are rubbish.

Hello, I have just bought this unit, but I seem to have some confusion what wires to connect to the Jazz.
-
I have just bought the Victor VT-500T Keyless entry system for my wife's 2003 Jazz, and I am a little confused as to what wires to connect to what on the Jazz, the circuit diagram in the instruction booklet is a bit confusing to me, as I am not sure what diagram to go for, Negative trigger or positive trigger? She only needs a basic lock/unlock with lights system connected, once I know what wires I need to connect to, and where to put the unit, then hopefully, the penny will drop. For what I see in the diagrams, out of the 13 wires on the edge connector, I only need a Lock wire, Unlock wire, Red +12v Battery, Black earth to chassis, and a Brown wire to lights, but I'm not sure, if anyone has Installed this unit, and would like to share how they did it, then a huge thank you will be in order. The link to the system I bought is:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320655446497&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123 Many thanks.

I had an 03 and the drivers side lock was broken so I lived happily by using the boot lock until one day the key went in but then wouldn't turn or come out. A local friend mended it and all was well. I now have a 02 and 2 keys. One would go in one way up but not the other until yesterday when it went in but then wouldn't turn or come out on the drivers side. I am able to use the passenger door but find climbing over the hand brake and gear stick uncomfortable. A car lock smith is coming to look tomorrow. Has any one any good advice for me

Car locks are easier to fix than household locks. This applies to most cars except for Mercedes Benz. Neighbour's new E-class has no keyholes at all, it works on a proximity device
