I see Honda came out 2nd in the top reliability chart, behind Lexus... and Toyota way down in 17th!

Maybe the recent Toyota 12v battery issue dropped it down

before I bought my Honda Jazz I also looked at the Lexus LBX. It is however quite a bit more expensive

I did the same as I had Lexus before the Jazz. The entry level version is actually a tad cheaper than the Jazz, but to get the equivalent spec as a Jazz it is a lot more as you say.

here in Belgium the Lexus LBX base is more expensive. Also the base color is so ugly that you need to pay 900 extra to get rid of it. When I bought my Jazz it came in black as the base color (which I like). Also there was something like a 5225 price reduction/beneifit (currently it is 4500). Plus I got some money back from my 2013 Suzuki which I bought in 2016 for 9k. So I paid 25500 for a new Honda Jazz Crosstar. A new top range Lexus LBX is around 40K. In hindsight I might have bought the Honda Advance Sport that comes in white as the base color. I like white also. But on my crossstar I can put a roof rack (I already had that 1 for my Suzuki). Can't put that on a Advance Sport I think

Well, there are many, many surveys like this.
I have a surprise for you: according to 9 European consumer organizations and 50,000 respondents, this is how they published the 10 most and 10 least reliable car brands:
The ten most reliable car brands according to these Consumers' Associations:
1 . Lexus 8,9
2 . Suzuki 8,7
3 . Toyota 8,7
4 . Subaru 8,6
5 . Honda 8,5
6 . BYD 8,4 *
7 . Tesla 8,4
8 . Mazda 8,3
9 . Kia 8,2
10. Mitsubishi 8,2
* Perhaps surprising is the brand that takes sixth place with a score of 8.4: BYD proves that attractively priced models from China can also be reliable.
The ten least reliable car brands according to these Consumers' Associations:
1 . Land Rover 4,3
2 . MG 5,9
3 . Lynk & Co 6,2
4 . DS Automobiles 6,2
5 . Citroλn 6,3
6 . Peugeot 6,4
7 . Opel 6,8
8 . Ford 7,1
10. Alfa Romeo 7,1
The Dutch Consumers' Association conducts annual research into car defects together with nine other European consumer organizations. In total, the distributed 2025 questionnaire was completed by more than 50,000 Europeans. It concerns cars no older than ten years. The questions focus on problems that occurred with the car in the past year (2025). In this latest study, breakdown statistics for some 300 different models from 39 car brands have been mapped out.
If a repair could wait, that accounts for 20% of the rating. If the car had to go to the garage immediately, that counts for 35%, and for 45% if the car could no longer drive. All results have been aggregated per brand and model.
The results were adjusted for age and mileage. In addition, overall satisfaction with the car was assessed.

I like my Jazz so far but probably with any brand of car it is getting very expensive. Even base insurance and taxes going through the roof. It is like 100% higher than maybe 10 years ago. We have to pay them politicians the big bucks for the great work they do for Europe ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) and then you still need to put some gas in the car as well.
