Title: HERE map updates
Post by: Downsizer on August 25, 2026, 02:16:07 PM
Previously I have updated 3 UK regions without difficulty using the house Wi-Fi. Yesterday I was notified of updates available and at the start I was offered the choice of regional updates or a full update as usual. I chose my home region first which worked well, but when I went back for more the option of regional updates had disappeared. Still not available today. Why?

I have the Garmin, and the 'update' icon often appears on the navigation screen. I go through all the palaver of formating a USB, bunging it in and accepting the information... yet when I go to my laptop, insert the USB and open the Garmin (Jazz map updates) system it says 'no updates, system up to date'.
Annoying.

I always reckoned it was programmed to flash that update message a year after the last one

My car wasn't telematics activated so how did it know

i posted this some days ago in another thread. Maybe you can use this:

latest HERE maps available: 2026.03.18  (for the Honda Jazz MK4, at least my 2026 model uses HERE navigation).

you need to format a SD card FAT32 (needs to have an USB A slot). I use a little program called Rufus (free). I have a cheap 256GB Micro SD card but I think you need at least 30GB or so. I have something like this where you can stick in a MicroSD card (see image below).

If you have a Honda Jazz mk4 (at least it works for my 2026 model) go to:
https://here.navigation.com/home/en_GB/HondaEMEA/EUR

Enter model CR-V and select 2026

Then enter your VIN number (car ID number) and the Database version you are running currently.

Make sure your SD card is plugged in an USB slot and formatted in FAT32 and then press download.

Once ready you can put the SD card (via de USB A slot) in the USB data drive of your car and start the car and turn on the navigation.

Note that it takes like 45 minutes to put it on your system so it is best done when you have to drive somewhere for 45min because the car needs to stay ON. Or just sit and wait for 45min while you keep your car running.

I only usually update 3 UK regions, which I can do using WiFi. It normally just takes a minute or so to download one region and then perhaps 10 mins to update it. My problem now is that I have only been able to update one region. I don’t want a full update.

did you also try to go into the menu of the navigation? See images (mine is in Dutch)

go to the menu

then select update map

then select update local region (wi-fi) and update selected region (wi-fi)

Yes, thanks, that’s how I reached the first region I downloaded. But when I go back into it to select another region the top two lines are blanked out. I’ll try again today.

Maybe the agreement between Honda and HERE is for just one update session a year . If you update just one region perhaps  you cannot update any further regions  later in that same year.

HERE (and Garmin) update maps more than once a year  for their independent 'paying' customers so maybe wish to prevent Honda customers  staggering their  regional  updates in the hope of getting  more recent versions ?

I normally do full map updates.. It takes a bit longer but  not that complex.  I dont know if  a regional update also prevents you later doing a full update .

Check in the settings that the on-line services are still logged in. I have seen some where the on-line services have shown as expired when they have not actually and doing the reset in the navigation app can fix this.

Navigation > Settings > On line services > On line services status

It should show signed in and an expiry date.

This has happened with my 23reg Crosstar. Two weeks ago, a notice appeared on my screen in the car to say there was a Garmin update available, Using a usb,  the site said there wasn't one. I phoned the main agent and explained the situation. They said bring it in. I took it in yesterday and they checked it and said the map was up to date!
What a waste of time. I'm not going to bother with it until the next service which is in March.

The problem has gone away today - I now have the option to select regional updates again. I don’t know if the problem was with the car or with the HERE system.

they seem to have updated their site. Few months ago you had to select the CR-V to update the navigation system for the Jazz but now you can also select the Jazz from the menu:
