Title: tyre inflator in emergency kit
Post by: Ian F on May 10, 2026, 02:34:04 PM
A new Jazz owner with a question:

Can the tyre inflation pump be reused for putting air in tyres after it has been used to inject the sealant following a puncture?
I have a feeling it might just be all gunged up inside?

I've a 23reg Crosstar.

I would never trust that bit of junk provided by Honda, just because it's far cheaper for them, than giving you a spare wheel.

I threw it all out.

A jack and wheel brace fit nicely in the space it occupied, as does the spare wheel in a bag I bought,  sit in the middle of the boot.

"What were the chances of that happening?"

Better to avoid using the gunk at all if you can.  The pump may be reusable but you will also  need to replace the gunk cartridge and many  tyre fitters will refuse to repair the tyre  .  (I often answer questions that were not asked  ;D )
