Title: No signal beep from belts, parking sensors and flash and alarm lights
Post by: Michalis on January 22, 2026, 01:39:18 PM
Hello

I acquired a second hand Honda Jazz 2016 that I love, had a 2009 too till last year.

I have a problem that no sound is heard from the seat belts alarm, the flash and alarm lights when operating or the parking sensors.

Does any of you have any clue?

thank you a lot

Michalis

I'd guess someone has found the way to disable annoying noise.

Sorry, that's what I'd think.

But to truly look at the issue, is there any audible warnings working?

I have a problem that no sound is heard from the seat belts alarm, the flash and alarm lights when operating or the parking sensors.

Taking these separately:
Seat belt alarm: yes, this should work and there’s no way to turn it off. Possibly TnTkr is right, a previous owner has found a way to disable it.
Flash and alarm lights: I’m not completely clear what you’re referring to. If you mean the turn signal indicators and hazard flashers, then (in another thread) it’s been pointed out that these don’t have an audible alarm. You should hear a clicking noise as the relay operates the flasher. If you don’t hear that, either it’s very quiet on your car (you should see a visual indication on the panel to confirm the flashers are working), or the relay isn’t working and nor are the flashers.
Parking sensors: do you get visual indications of obstructions on the panel ? If not, the system may be switched off; there’s a switch down near your right knee. If it is on, then there is a setting to turn off the rear sensors (only). See p.461 of the online handbook. Has a previous owner selected this?

It does sound  like the buzzer has either been deliberately disabled by a previous owner, or faulty.

The following post is from someone wishing to silence a working buzzer.  Or at least reduce its volume.  But might still help.

It appears the buzzer  is incorporated in the PCB , printed circuit board, of  the instrument cluster. Some had trouble locating it even when it could still draw attention to itself by making a noise.   Finding a silent one may be even harder.

You may be lucky and the buzzer has been silenced by something easily  reversible, such as blu tac or tape.       But repair  might require a new PCB , which may be quite a big job.
In which case you may want to double check other possibilities first.

I would be surprised if GK Jazz has any physical direction indicator relay. In most of the cars flashing is just one feature of a solid state controller for multiple electric functions. Relay-like clicking sound is made by a loudspeaker i.e. buzzer somewhere near or in the instrument cluster. The same buzzer makes all the warning sounds, and appearently that buzzer is now not working.

I guess that the previous owner found a way to silence it or there is a problem and as some of you state all these sounds and warning come from the same speaker/ beeper. The indication lights do flash and nothing is heard. In the same time the parking sensors are shown blinking in camera screen but nothing is heard.

I took the car to honda dealer to have a look as well as to an external car electronics repair shop and could not realize from where these signals are heard! so I am thinking to try that myself in a sense.....

thanks for the replies..... Any clue how to remove the control panel to access the beeper?

thanks again and have a great weekend
