I started this topic for accessories, equipment additions.
I've already started here with the "Full car trunk mat (https://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=17620.0)".
But to keep it all here "under one roof", unfragmented.
I will gradually add here what accessories I have purchased and I would be happy if others would join in as well.
I buy most of my products on Ali, I know the quality is worse, but I consider it a "consumable".
So apart from the "full car trunk mat", I'll start with the net between the seats (https://aliexpress.com/item/1005008274269135.html), it's quite practical.
-
My newest accessory is a cargo net (https://www.biltema.fi/en-fi/car---mc/car-interior/boot/car-cargo-net-7590-x-30-cm-2000019418), which I have attached under the boot cover by punching holes into the edges of the cover and threading the elastic cord through those holes. It's slightly too big and loose for the small boot cover of Jazz, but it's good for storing some lightweight items.
Another accessory is the boot floor mat, which I've cut from a piece of this doormat (https://www.jysma.fi/tuotteet/Kuramatot/150%20-%20Kuramatto%20York.html).
-
Armrest (https://aliexpress.com/item/1005008235458297.html).
-
As far as "official" accessories go, I had the following:
- Premium Sunlight "White" Pearl colour option - (the standard black just didn't appeal to me)
- The standard Honda footwell "illumination" option - (it kind of turned out to be two trained fireflys giving their best effort) :D - yet: I like the effect they provide!
- The dealership threw in orignial Honda floormats - (thank you!)
For "aftersales" accessories:
- I had all four sills laminated - (the official Honda offerings don't cover the most exposed edges!)
- a https://no.co/gb20 jump starter for the 12V battery - (just in case)
- a CTEK CT5 start / stop battery charger/maintainer - (the 12V battery is critical to the car!)
- a Promate 150psi portable air compressor - (it comes with a handy quick-release fastener - the screw-on types are just a pita!)
- an antiskid floormat for the boot - (you might even find one at Lidl)
- two cheap black neoprene computer mouse mats - (depending on your height, the dashboard reflects quite annoyingly in the windscreen)
- a 32 GB SanDisk "Ultra Fit" USB flash-drive for my music - (it is hardly noticable when plugged in - absolutely no chance to accidentally "knock" it!)
otherwise I felt no need to further "enhance" or "embellish" my Jazz (so far) :D - (it's imho a quite remarkable and well equipped car!)
Addendum:
I forgot the "Auriol" thermo-hygro-meter from Lidl (they sold them in tree-packs) - (I just wanted to know, if the Jazz's climate control is up to the task - "surprise": In the long run it is!)
-
The EX came with most things as standard (mudflaps/spoiler/door protectors/sill protectors/rear vanity tint/16" alloys/boot tray...
The only thing I bought was a cargo net that stretches across the back of the rear seats, under the parcel shelf, and a dashcam.
I have a USB for music, and some rubber 'slip mats' that I cut to shape and fitted in the glove boxes, arm rest cupboard and the 'open' nik-nak receptacles... just to stop things vibrating/rattling on the hard plastic.
The only extra I might try, is to have the front grill chrome strip 'blacked'. All the other trim like the spoiler, mirrors and door protectors are in gloss black.. yet that little bit of trim is in chrome. It would look, in my opinion (I photoshopped it) better in gloss black.
-
Sills protection (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008711230188.html).
Unfortunately, on Ali they have a max. width of 7 cm everywhere - that means it doesn't go over the edges. It would need about 10 - 12 cm.

Fortunately the business neighboring my Honda dealership is a professional specialising in foil-coating.
So, I had them foil-coat the sills with transparent foil which is hardly noticable (but nevertheless does its job!)
Surely (and I didn't just call you "Shirley!") ;) you will find some professionals outside of China to do the job for you as well!
Addendum:
footnote for younger folks: "Don't call me Shirley" is an absolute classic from the 1979 movie "Airplane!"
just "Google it" (or even better: Watch it!) - in "our time" we found it hilarious - yeah, I know: The many "sins" of youth...) ;)

As I already wrote here (https://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=12208.msg150888#msg150888), before the FL there was also the option of a light interior. This is no longer possible with the FL.
Dark interior = absorption of sunlight = increased heat. The light interior also looks more luxurious. That's why I solved it at least with covers.
I originally considered these (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007658353286.html), but since I don't like "leather" mainly because of the breathability, I decided on something really breathable (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008502097707.html), and made of a natural material (linen).
I was warned by the seller that these are universal and won't fit perfectly in the back, but it turned out quite well. The main purpose is fulfilled - the original upholstery are protected and the interior is lightened.
-
That's a nice idea to use light-colored seat covers reduce the heating of the cabin from sunlight. I have one concern though... What happens if the center airbag on the side of the driver's seat activates. Will the seat cover rip open to allow the airbag to inflate?
-
ahavoja: there's a weak stretchy material on the (all) side(s), so it should probably stretch. I haven't really explored it.
This (https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/S059a64172be2414fa482601ea39a2e7fB.jpg) is what the product description says.
------------
Edit: I just asked the seller and got the answer right away: "Friend, the side of the seat is sewn separately and will not affect the deployment of the airbag"
-
I also used something (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008612418496.html) on the floor to lighten it.
For potential buyers, it is necessary to send the seller details about the car (e.g. Honda Jazz e:HEV, 2024, left-hand drive). But it still doesn't fit 100%.
For example, there are some (unnecessary) strips around the doors in the front - I cut them off. Maybe I would choose something else (https://aliexpress.com/item/1005006620858530.html) in the future.
But I'm happy with them. They look luxurious, especially in the back.
And they also have another function: noise-absorbing.

I was thinking(https://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a015.gif) and came to the conclusion, that it's a matter of taste...(https://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/frech/a040.gif)
-
Jazzik: yes, that's true. But so far everyone who saw it LIVE has liked it.. ;)
In my opinion, it's better to have them than not to have them, especially: protection of the original upholstery, interior lighting, as a damping material and looks it good.
For these accessories for my new Jazz, I always prioritize protecting the original materials to minimize wear and tear.
-
I guess I am in a different league accessory wise. Here are mine
1) bag for full sized spare wheel and shows basic boot matting (about 10 euro a roll - cut to shape)
2) felt bag for odds and ends ,usually lives on rear floor. Plus handy gadget for reaching interior windscreen for cleaning without stretching.
3) I am not being facetious here. Its where I keep snacks such as dried mango while driving. :P
Currently a cardboard container which originally contained filled totilla wraps from Aldi. I would be grateful if anyone can suggest a more suitable permanent or disposable container that would fit (such as a takeway coffee cup.). It needs to be dark in colour to reduce reflection on the side window and mirror. :D
-
I have fitted these to my Crosstar, very pleased with them https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/267276100243?_skw=honda+jazz+door+sill+protectors&itmmeta=01JX7KR8S1V0MMQ0CJ6BXVEBSH&hash=item3e3ae5a293:g:QlgAAOSwl4hoP4KY&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAABAFkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1fi2lPmR267xyXJJjSuZdFnxPmDQ3a4v2IkAR78s--oqUvegkKWBg5jVlg3IztEVyGlXtJ0wL5ey%2F5RUwE0UPc8fux0r4e95Kjuoy6r2uCkFlhKQvzC6akFK1cYgt7EFvztbNBxWzBXFtHXcTgeo0sUfvSASbbeQW3Lwe9DsMulkzBp2jGoEob7qHubycTyR3zhr7mV6V%2FA36Dq59YN8NDQeszl8mljjVMjN7X%2BPprSJhLdcKlhIzEkReqoclBKMI54uxTyb5Wp%2FUgIcBcYcqftvHGT8cy6i6o2WVbGhYGBBkaQGaoEgMHyckXuDpsIN1U%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR9KM4fPpZQ

The only accessories I’ve purchased are:
Ice scraper/snow brush, digital tyre pressure gauge, small cordless tyre inflator, Gtechniq G6 Window Cleaner & two cloths, NOCO GB40 jumper starter and a 12v plugin digital voltmeter
Apart from the NOCO jump starter which is behind the drivers seat everything else is stored in the boot under the little cover so out of sight
-
Lord Voltermore: I'm also considering a spare wheel… But you also need a jack...
ninanina: NOCO GB40 is very good, I have it too. ;) I just don't know if it can withstand high temperatures in the summer and low temperatures in the winter, inside the car...?

I’ve had my NOCO for a couple of years and only charged it twice as it seems to hold its charge very well. Even when I charge it still shows 80+%
Luckily I’ve never had to use it in anger but it’s there just in case
I keep it behind the drivers seat rather than in the boot so if there’s a total power failure I can still get into the car but probably, due to the electric release, the boot would prove much more difficult to open

With regards to point 3, I use a neoprene beer/pop can holder whicl I cut down to the correct height and turned it inside out so as to see the black neoprene. I use it to store my polarised photochromic glasses for easy reach.
I also did the same for the two in the console to stop a small hand gel dispenser tapping the sides.

The only accessories we added to the otherwise completely standard Jazz EX is a dashcam (Viofo A119 V3) and (black! ;D) rubber floor mats (front and back) to park our possibly muddy wet shoes on.
Oh and the dealer had put a (also black!) rubber mat in the boot upon delivery.
-
Surprisingly useful Tailgate Strap - (08L46TZA610) - supplied free on request.
Also have covered all bolt heads etc with black covers, just makes door openings a little less functional.
Boot light change to LED
Centre console organiser
-
I've got the official boot sill protectors https://www.coxmotorparts.co.uk/2020-jazz-hybrid-accessories/genuine-honda-jazz-hybrid-boot-sill-decoration-2020-onwards/ to protect against damage to the paintwork when getting heavier items into/out of the boot. I'm tempted by the ebay door sill protectors noted above.
-
Lord Voltermore: I'm also considering a spare wheel… But you also need a jack...
The commonly available scissor jacks are quite long and difficult to stow. You CAN fit one in the compartment on the right side of the boot if you move the bottle of tyre sealant into the underfloor compartment. Wrap and secure the jack well so it cannot rattle or move about.
But if you need to buy a jack a better choice may be a more compact design that fits within the spare wheel itself. .10 -15 years ago Fiestas, Clio's etc ,etc came with a jack and tools in special inserts within the wheel. You may be able to buy a complete set ,still in its insert, in good, or even unused condition for less than the cost of buying a new jack. Try Ebay or local car breakers yard and research a variety of car models for more choice of something suitable.
-
You can find a new space-saver spare wheel, jack and spanner on eBay for around £160, or a second-hand full size wheel/tyre, jack and spanner, from about £50.
If you go down this route, don't trust the "mickey-mouse" spanner to get the nuts off.
Before I bought my Jazz in March, I'd had two CRVs over the space of 27 years. I changed a wheel several times, but never used the spanner supplied. I always carried the right socket and the T-bar from my vintage socket set and a big ring spanner, to put on the end of it to increase the mechanical advantage. There's no way you can undo a wheel nut, tightened by a garage or tyre fitting outlet.
-
Oh yeah, I forgot about the "spanner".
So you need: spare wheel + jack + spanner.
Lord Voltermore: Do you mean something like that (https://www.bazos.cz/img/1/075/203455075.jpg?t=1749177154)?
And another question: if I have 15' wheels on my Jazz, what kind of spare wheel should I choose? Isn't 16' better?
-
Yes, the jack and tools (although the wheel also shown is a spacesaver)
If you have 15" wheels a 15" spare is better. 16" wheels have lower profile tyres .ie 185/55 R16 rather than 185/60/R15 (ie lower side walls) . And its illegal to mix different tyre and wheel sizes on the same axle.
(except specially marked emergency spacesavers)
a 16" wheel would probably get you home in an emergency, but I see no advantage in choosing it as a spare.
STOP PRESS ! :o I have just noticed that Honda UK web site now show the Advance as having 185/60R16 tyres ,the same as the Crosstar. Which gives less choice in all season tyres. Maybe its a typo/mistake . My 2024 advance has 185/55/R16 tyres.

I also have door lock covers (https://aliexpress.com/item/1005008398116507.html). I was worried they would rub but they are fine.
And I also bought reflective stickers (https://aliexpress.com/item/1005008063235471.html) for the doors.
-
Jack & spare carried as photoes, plus Bosch impact for removal/refit (latter on low setting) and extending nut spanner for final tightening.
Bit extreme maybe for most but critical journeys to airport for holidays cannot suffer unnecessary delays plus life in countryside a bit remote for rapid assistance.

I don't use a wheel cover on my full size spare I place it inverted in the centre of the boot which gives me enough room for four shopping bags in the corners and space in the wheel for more bags
-
I too carry a spare as I have a maybe irrational fear of taking a sidewall out on a pothole in the mountains of Transylvania, and sitting there surrounded by wild bears hoping a recovery agent will find me . (but maybe not the best place to change a wheel either ;D ) It might be unavoidable for another mechanical breakdowns but at least I wont have the frustration of knowing I have a spare wheel sitting in the garage at home. >:( Also I can take my time to locate a replacement tyre of my choice, and not held to ransom over cost.
Interesting to see a small trolley jack fits under the floor. My current one is large, very heavy, and must be at least 40 years old .. I keep snowchains and a tow rope inside the spare wheel.
-
The jack bought through Amazon of course - AA 2 TONNE TROLLEY JACK AA3282 Lifting Range - For Cars/Vehicles - TUV/GS Approved - Includes Case/Instructions,black yellow,-135mm to 330mm

Other accessories:
Non-Slip Mat (https://aliexpress.com/item/1005006850762368.html)
Indoor thermometer (https://aliexpress.com/item/1005006113427700.html)
Rain Shield (https://aliexpress.com/item/1005006851454202.html) (they actually look really cheap - weak plastic, but strangely enough they work)
-
I mentioned before that I had no problems transporting my golf gear with the the CRV I'd had for 20 years, until I changed for a 23reg Crosstar, in March.
These are the boot tray and rubber mat I bought on-line for about £27 and £10 respectively.
(https://i.ibb.co/SD3zd4Z2/P1030299.jpg) (https://ibb.co/Gf5qt4rX)
The mat cover the whole of the backs of the rear seats.
(https://i.ibb.co/Q7274b3r/P1030300.jpg) (https://ibb.co/fVhVs1z4)
My electric trolley isn't much of a problem, as it has its own bag. But the golf bag could have been if I was putting it in the car if it had been raining. There's still plenty of room on the tray for the trolley battery, golf shoes and anything else I might need to carry (like shopping on the way home!)
(https://i.ibb.co/hxB9rzQG/P1030301.jpg) (https://ibb.co/kV4BzCbL)
Both the bag and the trolley are well clear of the backs of the front seats.

Normal Honda rubber boot mat
Changed cup holders to black surrounds
Jazz sill protectors
Bespoke phone holder down by gearstick
Hardwired dashcam
-
Out of interest I looked in Halfords. Their 2 tonne trolley jack is currently reduced from £40 to £32 and a telescopic wheel brace is half price at £6.25. In addition I got £5 off by signing up to their Motorclub/club card thingie. (I gave an email address I seldom bother checking ;D ) It fits in the underfloor compartment. A bit heavier than the scissor jack it replaced.
Thanks for the inspiration Aphybrid
Today I also bought a 48" TV for £549. Currys currently asking £699. :o Relevance to the Jazz? It fitted nicely in the magic seats space. The salesman who helped me load it was most impressed
-
I refuse to buy from Currys as they appear very frequently in the Which? magazine and some computer magazines with their shocking after sales service
They frequently try and flout the regulations
-

I think most people are surprised how much space there is in the Jazz
I took my first backseat passenger the last couple of days and they were amazed how much legroom they had for ‘such a small car’!
-
Very soon I noticed that the plastic at the bottom of the door gets dirty and scratches easily.
So I solved it cheaply with duct tape (https://aliexpress.com/item/1005007412191863.html).
-
I find this felt bag very useful for storing loose items in the car. . Currently £5.79 with free postage on ebay UK

That seems a good idea. It's easy to let your foot brush against the door cards when you get in and out if you can't open the door wide enough.
Another thing I try not to do, is to let my backside brush against the side of the driver's backrest as I get in.
In the past with other cars I've had where I have let that happen a few hundred times, this part of the seat starts to wear.
-
Talking about seat wear, we had a thread some time ago about the drivers seat plastic breaking down where it met the solid plastic bottom line. Haven't much of that lately?
-
Bought some screw head caps (https://aliexpress.com/item/1005007326402513.html) for a few bucks, they look pretty impressive, but I'm curious if the color will fade over time.
-
I do like the look of those, but I think it would only fit 3 of our nuts because the anti-theft locking nut is bigger? Still for that price it's a bargain even it it only lasts for a year ;)
-

Good point 5thCivic . Both my mk4's came with official Honda locking wheel nuts. I dont know if they are standard for the UK market ,or just a freebie from my dealership. I prefer security to ultimate looks. (which may also explain why my wheels are not as clean as stani's :-[ ;D )
-
I like the wheels on my Mk4 Crosstar.
They don't appear to get as dirty as did the alloys on the CRV I had before.
A disadvantage with alloys, is that though I'd never "kerbed" the ones on the CRV I'd had for twenty years, there were several marks on the rims, from when I'd had new tyres fitted, the wheels re-balanced and the weights fitted in different places.
-
5thcivic, Lord Voltermore: Nobody steals 15' wheels. :D Especially those with plastic.
-------
Actually, I forgot: those caps are pretty tight and can't just be removed. A special plastic remover is included to remove them.
So anti-theft locking nut probably won't be needed.
-
Not going to lie, all mine has is a dash cam and cheap usb LED light bars in the footwells 🤣
Thinking about a boot mat though
-
Thinking of running my 22 plate EX, without the windmill wheel trims; but I will need some centre wheel caps, to hide the discoloured central hub nut.
I think that some older Honda models use them, but I am unsure if they are a standard size or not.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, giving me the correct hub size, it would be appreciated.
-

Yeah, those are pretty nice. I originally wanted to replace the original ones on my Jazz with the JA1505, because I didn't like the ones "with the plastic" that I saw on the picture.
But then I saw them in real life and I liked them, so I kept them.

Dave I used these when I removed the Fans on my Advance https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204948741854?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110013%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIMRXI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D273426%2C274466%26meid%3Ddd15ed3f855b46d5be671a9f97843360%26pid%3D101196%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D165361391055%26itm%3D204948741854%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2332490%26algv%3DSimRXIVINativeV2WithSellersOwnItemsFilter%26brand%3DUnbranded&_trksid=p2332490.c101196.m2219&itmprp=cksum%3A204948741854dd15ed3f855b46d5be671a9f97843360%7Cenc%3AAQAJAAABEMd7r5mNjkO12hUFN8%252BUjou0r36TWdG4ts9ki5yV37PLn%252BNOULI4btYgHvyZLxyhY4Zuuupaz4ArxtrG%252Bf8KdnZMPoroJBOJwOpFXh9NYQP9DawlyWE%252FpGmTks1jRkCzO9iGdNrY6y4fCRHFI5%252F5RyFPQ%252F40%252Bys6dSIikeRahlbPSfpr%252BUUu2X%252Bc6pGa2Vd0RVsdrRvcJAXlCZH4ZHL1I2R0Xa3uKxJLY9QsawGDANMY%252FkAMV209wRGtkTokPapAoe1MYw1jHTULemCWRNMT%252Bgpz%252BrnJphMc%252FeR7huRUwInE%252FRBgJt8nQ0E1JBrHyWfVM8yS9AReZs6BCXVTHaNsi8XFxctaxUiA1mvsBRNkfaT7%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A2332490&itmmeta=01J9GR36DEFFCGB6CR9ZXST0JC

Tombola…..Bingo; I think they look pretty smart!
Do they clip into the centre of the hub, or is a little adhesive used on the circumference to hold them in place?

They are a push fit into the hub, no adhesive required, although they are showing out of stock on the link at least you have the required dimensions

There's too much space on the dashboard...
So I bought a Mat (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008890726640.html).
-
I also love having all sorts of things, like keys and sunglasses, loosely scattered on the dashboard.
It's so interesting to watch them fly around (https://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/engel/d080.gif) when you brake hard or get into a collision.
You only have 2 (two!) glove compartments, so why not have things loosely scattered on the dashboard?(https://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a080.gif) Only put on your helmet!

.. and don't you "adore" all the nice rattling / sliding noise they make during the drive as well? :D ;)
on a more "constructive" vibe:
I simply hate all the official (bare plastic) trays of the Jazz!
Therefore I have cut the leftovers from the anti-glide bootmat to size and layered the mostly used trays with them.
This prevents objects not only from gliding but also eliminates most of the rattling.
-
One of my first jobs with all my Honda cars was to pad the centre console. 2" Velcro, the fluffy bit was ideal.
I also put the same stuff on the hard plastic where unused seatbelt buckles hang as they have frequently caused a rattle
Hard plastic where you store stuff is rattle heaven
-
Not one car I have owned has been rattle free. There is always somewhere that niggles.
I have some anti-slip mat that has been cut up to fit in all the orifices.
I still have a couple of cabin rattles that appear at certain speeds, one being the camera/sensor housing on the windscreen.. when it appears I gently push it upwards and that stops it for a few days, and another in the left cup holder area... which if I grab the plastic trim around it tends to stop that one for a few days too.
I wonder if that car with the passengers earrings that creaked ever did develop its own rattles.
-
back in the 1920's 1930's Rolls Royce (real RR, not BMW's in party frocks) ) had a tongue in cheek advertising campaign that because the car was so quiet one or two owners complained they could hear the clock ticking ;D
-
It holds up well, it's the same material as this one (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009234746682.html), for example.
I put my glasses and keys in there to test how it would behave while driving. Since I was driving alone, I didn't put my cell phone in there (that's how I took pictures). Sharp turns or intense braking don't do anything to it, it doesn't move, including the things I put down.
I put it here just for inspiration, maybe someone will be interested and buy it. Or maybe not.
I'm not forcing anyone to do it or saying that it's an obligation to buy it.

You do know you put that "pad" with your glasses right over the passenger airbag?
Moreover: You are quite aware that these items will blow up most likely into your passenger's face and possibly into yours?
Sorry, I'm just asking a stupid question...
-
So the passenger airbag is placed lower. And it was just a test. Now the pad is in the middle.
Why should "these items will blow"? Because of the airbag?
Can I also ask: how many times has your airbag blow?
Airbag blow in an accident - then it "blows everything away"...
You're looking for a problem where there isn't one. I'm not forcing you to buy that mat....

You are right: I'm a "prepper" (I even worry about things that - hopefully! - may never happen)
In all of my 45+ years of motoring I have (luckily!) never been involved in a severe road accident (fingers crossed, this good fortune will hold!) and you are right again: My airbags have never blown!
I only wish, you will never have to sadly remember this post in your future!
All the best!
P.S. The passenger airbag is right there! - Just consult your dealership - or the fine manual - or even: trust your own eyes (the "blow area" is visible to the avid eye...)
-
I actually thought of airbag deployment when I saw that white box on the glovebox lid
These days with multiple airbags you really have to be careful
-
You need to look in the manual where the airbags are located. Furthermore, they are also marked in the vehicle with the following inscription: “SRS AIRBAG”.
And the airbag certainly doesn't fire from the glovebox lid.
---
But as I write, there's no need to make a "camel out of a gnat". I couldn't even get in the car and drive - because I'm constantly threatened with (any) danger.
----
The post was only about the "stupid" mat. You don't want it, you're not interested? OK, no problem. I'm not forcing it on you. ;)
-
I didn't say the airbag came out of the lid ...... I just said it made me think
Very similar to photos I've seen of some putting seat covers completely over the seats when some seats now contain airbags
-
I agree with Coldstart.
The airbag is not precisely where the "SRS Airbag" logo is located.
. If you look carefully at the dashtop in certain lights ,with the sun at the right angle ,you can see a feint outline of where the covering material is thinner to allow the airblag to 'blow' . It is a rectangle area almost exactly the size and place where you have placed your chequered non slip tray.
Airbags deploy with explosive force .Anything in the way ,,such as keys, sunglasses, a mobile phone etc . will be blown at explosive force towards the person the airbag is intended to protect. If these hard objects hit you in the face they can cause serious injury, blindness or death. As someone pointed out on another post the recent "do not drive" recall by Citroen was because someone had been killed by 'shrapnel' from an airbag. It does happen. Babies in baby seats have died because they were themselves propelled by an airbag. Thats why you can switch them off.
It may never happen to you, but why take chances? . Or at least position the tray somewhere else.
-
I wonder how many accident reports have had 'had to remove solar powered hula girl from forehead' in them.
-
I was thinking more of those with full seat covers, always record the inside cabin so you could send the clip to YBF and get £250 towards recovery
-
I recommend starting a thread about airbags. This thread is about something completely different...

But if someone shows an accessory ,or something they do , that some of us think is potentially dangerous ,( because of air bags or another reason) it best express our concern on that same thread .
Please dont see it as a personal insult. We all do things others will, rightly or wrongly, regard as dangerous .If after reflection you decide its safe enough and we are over reacting thats your choice - But only while you are the front seat passenger . They are the one at potential risk, not the driver.

I’ve just added a micro towel by Danish Endurance. 60cm x 120cm. It cost me £7 from Amazon. This is in the compartment under the boot floor with everything else
After collecting winkles today I used the micro towel to wash my hands afterwards so I didn’t have dirty hands on the steering wheel and it worked a treat

Does anyone use roof racks? I don't mean the expensive original ones from Honda. Which ones are good? And possibly lockable? I found e.g. Thule, Hakr, Menabo...
-
Which mobile phone stand to be placed somewhere at the top of touchscreen would you recommend?
-
I bought this one (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007345111407.html), it holds very firmly (it has a kind of self-adhesive suction cup), it has a joint, and can be adjusted to different positions.
