Title: Motorola G84 and Jazz e:HEV
Post by: stani on April 05, 2025, 02:36:57 PM
I am a new owner of a Honda Jazz e:HEV and I have a problem with my Motorola G84 mobile phone:  pairing via BT, Wi-Fi, and USB cable.

After several attempts (I don't even know how) it works, but it doesn't stay that way - when I get back into the car, there's no automatic pairing, I have to try again. The phone sees the Honda, the Honda sees the phone, but I keep looking for them there, looking, looking...
Now I can't even connect to Android Auto via USB cable.

I would mainly need a permanent phone connection via BT.
In another car it's fine - I turn on BT on my phone, get in the car, start it and immediately the phone is connected and I can make calls via HF.

Does anyone have the same problem with this phone?

There was an update rolled out for the Bluetooth AVRCP on android devices some years ago that meant some functionality was lost on older Bluetooth devices, such has car head units. You can roll-back the Bluetooth profile by enabling developer options on the Android phone and changing the settings. Google android Bluetooth AVRCP rollback.

Thanks. AVRCP 1.4 - now works...  :)

Info for others:

I have only tried pairing wirelessly now.
It pairs not only with BT but also with Android Auto via Wi-Fi (it automatically turns on Wi-Fi in the mobile), the Phone icon on the display is not working (actually the Phone is not working even on the bottom bar), the phone can now only be controlled via Android Auto.
If I want the mobile to connect to the Jazz purely via BT as a Phone, I have to deactivate the Android Auto app on the mobile.

So I was prematurely happy. The mobile connection is not working again...  :(   Pairing fails repeatedly. The only thing that somehow works is connecting via USB cable. But even that failed while driving.
