Title: Advice on Centre Exhaust
Post by: jthorpvoodoo on March 19, 2025, 07:17:56 PM
Hello,

My centre/intermediate exhaust has rusted through (again).  The previous one only lasted about 4 years.

I am seeking advice on 2 things:
1.)  Does anyone recommend a particular brand of exhaust and/or suggest brands to stay away from?  I was a bit disappointed only getting 4 years use out of the previous exhaust (I can't remember which brand that was).

2.)  Regarding the centre exhaust to catalytic converter connection, I see on the honda parts catalogue there is a gasket.  Part Number:  18393-SH3-S00      Is this the only connection needed, or do you recommend exhaust paste, or both?  I'm curious as to what others have used and recommend.

Thanks in advance.

Hi
4 years on what I presume is an after market exhaust section is not bad? An original Honda part is very expensive given the age of the vehicle.  I always add a bit of exhaust paste as an additional back up though technically not needed. I can’t say I could recommend any aftermarket exhaust part with any confidence that it would last more than 4 years.

Depends on how good you think your car is. We took the plunge and bought Honda after our last Honda exhaust lasted 16 years :) :)
