Having a peruse of the Auto Express newsletter as you do, the lead item this week is the '24 Sante Fe. Opinions may vary, but it looks like it was designed using those well known Danish plastic building blocks...Lego ;D ;D What do you make of it?

My first thoughts are not on how cool does a 4.8 metre long brick look with striped headlights, but how many of its buyers really need a car that size except for their own ego. Even if it is a hybrid. Hardly any.
Sorry if it applies to any here, but when I see just two tiny OAPS sitting metres apart in a huge car I am torn between laughing at how ridiculous they look, and despair for the future .

I actually quite like it... better than some of the more 'blobby' SUV's (e.g. Mercedes), stuck-on massive grills (BMW) and certainly different to what VAG are putting out (Audi, Skoda, Volkswagen etc). I think Hyundai (and Kia for that matter) are being quite creative with their designs of late.

Built to accommodate the larger rears as seen on USA tv

catching up with Land/Range Rover?

I like it, but the rear view reminds me of the 1989 Suzuki Swift or a Daihatsu Charade from the same period!
That's not necessarily a compliment ;-) although they've been bold and moved away from the over creased look of the Tucson and new Kona (which I think is dating rapidly).
I read why the rear looks the way it does (as the boot's opening is huge) but still a bit awkward when the rest of the design is pretty neat!

Too narrow too small no V8 motor, avoid.
1980 Land cruiser would see it out....
