When my Jazz reaches about 55/60 mph I start to get a *vibration* type of noise from the left hand side near the door pillar. After lots of listening etc we have narrowed it down to the door mirror. If we close the mirrors in ie in parking mode, the noise stops, as soon as you put the mirrors out again it starts !!! Its very annoying.
Anyone else had a similar problem ????

No wing mirror noise problem here.
Could it be to do with how you have you mirror adjusted? Take a look at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A1011853 - Eliminating Blind Spots. It may help.

No..we've tried that. Made no difference where the actual internal mirror is, its to do with the whole door mirror housing when its in its out position( if you get what I mean)

I wonder if it is the similar issue I have with my 57 plate car from new, although the noise I hear sounds more like air being let out of a balloon.

I will try your suggestion of putting the wing mirrors in parking position to see if it is the wing mirror at fault.

Looking at that thread, it appears that there is a problem of noise/vibration from the wing mirror area on some Jazzes!! I'll be interested to know if yours goes away when you put the wing mirrors in !!

fwiw, it was a quite a bit windy on the motorway this morning. The noise from the passenger side A pillar area returned intermittently.
I folded the wing mirrors inwards. The noise didn't return.

Hi, we have noticed a howling(wind) noise inside the jazz above 50 mph on windy days like the wind outside is being directed through a vent, will try the door mirrors in park mode if it happens again, unless any one has any other ideas??
I would imagine it would be unbearable on a long journey!!!!!
Keep jazzing

my jazz has just developed a really loud ticking noise in the left mirror all the time the electric is on - even without the engine running. this is as bad when stationary as when moving. its giving me a headache and my granddaughter is too frightened of it to sit in the front! the mirror itself still moves but not the housing.
any ideas? thanks

I guess the noise is due to something preventing the mirror from completing its movement and switching off the motor. It will soon burn out or completely wreck the mechanism. The housing is possibly jammed and the gear has stripped but the motor will keep trying.
