Hi All
I have a White Honda Jazz Si 2015 which i managed to pick up a set of the alloy wheels for as the original diamond cut alloys started to look awful, no kerb damage just the white worm damage lacquer peel. which seems to be an Achilles heel of all diamond cut alloys.
Well i called honda parts department and they assured me i would not have wheel tyre pressure sensors. its done by the ABS wheel speed sensor. So got some new tyres fitted on the all new black wheels which look real nice only to have my tyre pressure sensor light come on with a line across it. which i have now discover is because no tyre pressure sensors. The pain is this pressure warning light comes on every start now and looks like i will have to get a set of tyre pressure sensors.
So my question is does anyone know the part number?
A place to buy some?
lastly does it matter the light comes on apart from annoyance?
Really annoyed with honda parts as i gave them registration, the honda dealership i purchased the car from and now i will have to pay for tyre removal, TPS fitment and tyre fitment balance again.
Thanks in advance

I have no experience of TPS but my thoughts are:
If the light remains on then it would probably be a MOT fail.
Is it not possible to transfer the sensors from your old wheels, or do they need replacing each time the tyre is replaced?

I'm surprised a 2015 Jazz has in tyre sensors as the Civc has had the rotational TPMS wince 2006.

The Honda part number for the wheel sensors is 42753-TL0-G53.
It was only 2015 Year model that had direct pressure sensors, models before had no tyre pressure monitoring and models after had an indirect system using the wheel speed sensors.
The genuine wheels are specifically designed to accept the sensor body in the rim, so other wheels may not allow fitment of the sensors.

Hard luck, these valve sensors are similar to earlier Honda Accord Tom's, several companies do produce OE spec sensors VDO + another. If you search this section of the forum my earlier posts should provide more info. In essence you can run the Jazz with new wheels tyres ignore the warning light we do this when the winter wheels/tyres are on Nov to March.

Its a definite MOT failure. Unless of course you are able to ensure its has its summer wheels fitted when its tested ;)
Unless the OP has kept the 'original wheels and tyres this is not an option. But if its any consolation most tpm valve sensors do not have replaceable batteries so the sensors may have needed replacing soon anyway ,whatever the cost, on your original wheels which were already 7 years old . (and not worth swopping the old sensor valves s onto the new rims)
I think most spares sellers have small print to avoid liability if their compatibility charts and advice is wrong. Especially the additional costs you have encountered re tyre fitting, balancing etc.
But if you try they MIGHT offer some help on a goodwill basis, such as supplying suitable valves at trade price.

Having read the above information regarding TPS I thought it may be helpful to share my experience . I posted a request for TPS resetting info in January this year. I came to the conclusion that my car a 1.4 ES CVT registered in September 2014 was fitted with ABS type system. However when I pump tyres to correct pressure the TPS warning light goes off immediately before I move the car which would indicate sensors in the wheels. All a bit confusing especially as it would appear that HONDA are not sure either.

If you go to a good tyre shop, they may be able to fit after market ones. My sister Hyundai i30 haf a faulty one and Hyundai wanted £200! So we went to a local tyre shop and he fitted a universal for £70.

Slight update on tpm being an MOT fail. Here is a pasting from testers manual
Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
The inspection of the tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is for M1 vehicles first used on or after 1 January 2012.
The TPMS warning lamp (see diagram 3) can operate in many ways depending on the vehicle type. You must only reject vehicles if it’s clear that the lamp indicates a system malfunction and not simply indicating that one or more of the tyre pressures is low.
Prevention is better than hoping the tester knows the manual so its sensible to ensure correct pressures prior to the test. (It can affect braking balance for instance) But these things have a habit of happening at just the wrong moment so its a loophole worth knowing about . Especially as system without sensors may need to be driven for a while before the system 'relearns' and resets itself.
But of course not having the necessary sensor valves fitted (or a faulty one that needs replacing ) would be regarded as a system malfunction ;)

Thanks for all the responses guy's, and yes my 2015 Si has the wheel sensors, so i went to honda dealer to complain about the miss information given to me about them. I then requested a price for 4 new sensors which i nearly fell over from. £680.00 haha yea right.
So i found some online an original part number for a lot less and i am awaiting delivery. they say 5 years for battery life but old ones still working in the old wheel's which i still have with 4 month old tyre's on. I was keeping them for winter wheels. The light is annoying but can live with it until i change the wheels back for winter and then over that time will have the new sensors fitted to my refurbed wheels ready for next summer.
Thing is i really enjoy my Jazz Si, its in fantastic condition inside and out and see no reason to change it. My next mission is Valve clearance adjustment which i am more than capable of doing myself.
I might even have my old wheels refurbed as well, not diamond cut though, just black like my new ones. they look really nice.

£170 per sensor !!!
-
I will sell you gold plated ones for £170 :-*
-
if they are solid gold i will take them haha :D

Universal programmable sensors that are claimed to fit 98% of cars can cost less than £20 each. Whats the betting Honda are one of the 2%? ;D
Incidentally for those who dont want to run winter wheels without sensors or want tpm on older cars not fitted with it there are alternatives ,such as this .
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pressure-Monitoring-Universal-Real-Time-Temperature/dp/B08KXNHSYN/ref=sr_1_17_sspa?keywords=TPMS+Sensor&qid=1659251342&sr=8-17-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzQTQ3MkRTME5SNlNOJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMTk1NzUyMzBJMDBVNTVSSlhDNyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwODMxNDM4UzdTQ1JSTlFaOEZUJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfbXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
I suppose in theory if your inbuilt tpm system is not working for some reason, having one of these MIGHT be sufficient for the mot. Assuming it works, and the MOT tester is satisfied it really is monitoring the tyre pressures on that car. If your car doesnt legally require TPM sensors it probably better not to have it fitted for the mot rather than having to justify it to the tester.

The Honda Jazz TPMS valves are based upon the earlier accord type ie the silver coloured tyre valve. VDO produce an OE spec along with some others from EU whatever that means. You can hunt down the older accord wheels get agarage to take the vlaves off hopeful;ly reseat then on the jazz rim and then reset if its necessary. Or as I have done run the winter tyres wheels with the warning light showing when you first start up then switch it off.
Even better ask you breakers yard to keep a set for you take the old tyres off with a tyre bead breaker then take the new wheel + new tyre to your Tyre fitter to check & install either route it can cost another £100 per rim.
The TPMS light will show as up after 5-7 miles if there's a fault on the valve once the new wheel is fiited.
