been offered a 15inch Jazz alloy wheel , thought I'd use as a spare , my wheels are 16 inch with 185/55 16 tyres.
Used 16 inch wheels seem hard to find.
Am I right in thinking that if I fitted a 175/65 15 tyre to the 15 inch wheel that would give me near enough the same diameter / circumference as the 16 inch ? or is there a better option for a spare other than a space saver ?

As long as the diameter of the tyre is the same.

useful calculator , looks close enough , thanks for that.

Close enough. But dont be tempted to leave it on longer than necessary, or drive at full speed-even though it would probably cope well enough.
Mixing tyres sizes etc on the same axle is technically illegal, In the unlikely event of being stopped by the police you might need to convince them you are being reasonable in using it -" Safer then remaining where I was ," blah blah ;) . I think space savers used in an emergency are exempt because they are so obviously wrong and have speed limit stickers.
Might be best to leave it at home for an mot test. It would fail if fitted, and might be recorded as an advisory even when not in use.

good point ,
be just my luck to get stopped driving to the tyre depot after a puncture !
or even worse have an accident and answer to the police and insurance company.
best hold out for a 16 inch 6J with correct tyre , if not it'll have to be the space saver

The size for 15" tyres on those GK Jazz models that have it from the factory is 185/60R15.
