Hi everyone.
Owned my Jazz hybrid for a couple of months now from brand new.
Love many things about the car but can’t believe how noisy the petrol engine is when it kicks in.
Many other members have posted saying how quiet their cars are but mine is literally driving me round the bend.
Driving on the flat, up hills &around town at low speed makes no difference.
It’s best described as driving a manual car stuck in second gear thrashing it.
The car has been back to the dealership but they say it’s just the way the car is.
Any comments welcome.

Hi,
That can’t be right. My SR is the complete opposite. Extremely quiet most of the time around town and on the motorway, only really hear the engine when the car really accelerates to programmed speed (or I floor it), but even then it’s like the engine has been muffled compared to previous cars I’ve owned. Everyone I’ve had in the car say it’s very quiet.

When you took the car back to the dealer, did they actually test drive the car, or was it just a reception counter fob-off?
-
Just want to add I have only driven with eco mode on so far. Is this the same for you? I think I’ll try driving with it off for a bit to test...

I’ve driven it in all modes to be fair.

There must be an issue with your particular car. The Skoda Fabia is not particularly quiet. Even my 14-year-old Jazz is not particularly noisy even at higher engine speeds. Perhaps something that should have been removed at the PDI is still in place transferring engine vibration to the bodyshell.

Just a thought Murdoch, perhaps you could contact a different Honda dealer and arrange a Jazz test drive.
That way, you'll be able to find out if it's your car in particular that's noisy, and then you'd have something concrete to complain about to your dealer, or if all Jazzes are loud to you.
