I thought it would be good idea if we could share what we are paying to service our Jazz's at Honda dealers.
Please specify:
Dealer: name, town/city & county
Date: date the service was carried out
Service & cost: which service (e.g, 25,000mile/2nd year service) and total cost included parts, labour, other charges and VAT.
Please state if the price includes replacement non-service parts (e.g., brake pads/discs, wiper blades, etc) or if you supplied your own oil.
Please mention if the dealer offered a drop off/collection service for either you or your Jazz or charges for loan cars.

Yeomans Honda Worplesdon (Nr Guildford)
2nd yr service (20K miles) for 1.4 SE 2008/08
Service - £250 including usual overpriced fluids etc and includes £10 for courtesy car insurance
2 front discs & pads - £250 (seems a bit soon but they claimed the pads were at the 19mm minimum. I should have challenged them on the replacement of the discs themselves)
Above prices are after deducting 10% loyalty card discount
Replacing wing mirror assembly - £248 (part + labour)
I got the usual encouragement to replace aircon fluid, tyres etc but said no. I was so quick to reject all that usual stuff I can't remember what they quoted. I think it was £115 for the aircon

I pressume you mean 2nd year 25000 mile service. What did they replace on the car as this seems very cheap to me and I wonder if it was low milage service that was done or they have made a mistake. If there mistake then well done.

Any body for a 5 year service done from a dealer?
I get two very distinct quotes from 2 dealers
D1 - £298 for a 5 year service
D2 - £198 for a 5 year service. Not sure if this is major or minor but I asked for a 5 year service
I have a 1.4 CVT with 'Gear Box Oil Change' performed last year. Apart from that I have no track record as I bought it from a Dealer last year and bought extended warranty meaning has to be dealer serviced.
Any advice on what should actually be carried out?
Regards,

Hi
;)
Theres really much fun having been serviced by Honda dealership except the cost of it.
if youre really into it add up every replaceble parts/service parts they have re place then add up the labor cost then youll see the rip off.
With the Jazz and all the Honda made there's no really need for exhuberant charges for services with the stamp to the book if you want it to sell in the future
These machines are built to last and parts are massively low to earth prices.

Check brake pads and discs.

ive been quoted £340 for a full service including new spark plugs and brake fluid replaced..although since ive got a K&N filter which wont need changed they have told me they can knock a bit off the price roughly £30.
without brake fluid being changed, with spark plugs being changed i was quoted £310 for a large, £210 for a small service (again with a bit being knocked off for the air filter).
10year/120k miles service.
update** ok so my service cost £302 including new spark plugs and brake fluid because of the k&n filter. (£38 for a filter change? :/ my k&n cost £35) -
Ok £582 later car is fully sorted :) (on top of the service costs)

Ok so no one seems to use this thread - but here goes...
Dealer: colliers Honda - Birmingham
Date: 3/9/12
Car : 58 plate GD1 Jazz SE
Service & cost: car due a 50,000mile/4th year service - car has only done 30,000 - I had changed the only other items on the 4 year service, the air filters recently so they offered a minor service discounted as a 'value' service as its over 3 years old. Plugs not due as its only done 30K.
£129 for the oil and filter and 'health checks' with printout. They offered fully syn oil and invoice says 5w30 shell helix ultra, Car was washed and vacumed. Roughly £60 parts and £40 labour plus VAT.
Yeh its an expensive oil change and I normally do them myself but wanted to keep the 'service history' running as its got 6 months used car warranty left.
They didnt try and blag me any 'oh your wipers are worn out' or try and charge me for any screenwash even though I brimmed it the night before - as per other dealers I have used !!
Could have had free collect and deliver but they were booked up for nearly a month !!
-
Honda in Enfield, North London
£460 "Level 4 service"?, includes auto gear oil change and winter health check.

total cost £129..just for oil and filter change? say its fully synthetic oil and a honda oem oil filter plus labor for tha price is ridiculous, your just buying their rubber stamp literally.
Chack halfords at the moment , boxing day sale, got a fully synthetic engine oil 5w/30 for tenner you wont belive it....and a fram oil filter for £4.50 independent shops, and coulple of elbow grease..job done..
less tha £20 quid in a 20 minute job.... :'( :'(

johnsons honda milton keynes, fixed price service £249...level two(?!) seems equivalent to a normal service according to the list, plugs changed, oil (shell helix), road test, various adjustments/ checks.... mot@ £39. strip down throttle body and clean out...(running much better now)@ £50.... free valet to perfection. no advisories. total cost £337.
the point for me is that i now know i can go pretty much anywhere, because if something has been done, it has been done by a competent mechanic, properly... as opposed to me mucking about with it, shouting a lot and expecting things to work. the cost may be high, but i've never had any problems.... they tried to sell me some "oil conditioner" whatever that may mean.... but a polite refusal meant they took it away again.
took the opportunity while i was there of looking at a GE (1.4ES)....will have to save my pennies!
update... fortron oil conditioner (£20 something from honda) available from britcar for £14.03 delivered. this internet might just catch on....
