Title: Cvt oil level damage
Post by: Roddy0000 on May 30, 2019, 11:49:37 AM
Has anyone found the dipstick for the auto gearbox on he mk3.  Had one on the mk2.  Think maybe the mk3 does not have one and if so obviously the oil level cannot be checked. Why would Honda do that !!
Wondering what the warranty would be should there be a gearbox issue through lack of oil.  Thanks.

There is no CVT level dipstick on a Mk3, there is no requirement for routine level checking, but replacement of the fluid is more often than earlier models.

What is the oil replacement period on a Mk3 ? Is it shorter than the two years/25K miles on other marks ?

Vic.

Mk3 is the same as later Mk2, thou would be covered by service reminder system, if not active, then its 25k or 24mths. compared to the 50k or 48month of Mk 1.

Where do you put the oil in the CVT?
On My Mk 2 I put the oil in through the dip stick holder, if there is no dip stick how do you put the oil in

Thanks
John

In through the level plug at the front of the transmission which is accessed from below with the engine under cover removed, similar to the manual transmission
