Title: grinding sound
Post by: guest8326 on March 10, 2019, 08:45:40 PM
Hello everybody, I own a Honda Jazz and I have a problem with it when accelerating in 4th and 5th gear you can hear a grinding noise between 2000 and 2500 RPM. There is no sound below and above the mentioned RPMs. The sound goes away when I slightly press the clutch pedal. Clutch set is changed with an aftermarket one and the input shaft bearing is also changed with original parts from Honda. Please advise what the problem might be and how serious it is.

Hello Pando. When you say "the input shaft bearing", are you referring to the gearbox input shaft or do you mean the clutch release bearing?

So the gearbox has been rebuilt and the bearings and seals replaced? Hopefully that will remove a lot of the possible issues.

The problem appeared after the change of the bearings. I asked i few repair shop and they do not know were the problem is, so i am looking for advice what to do. Honda dealer is very expensive and they do not tell what the problem is.
