Hi all, looking for some help.
I have just switched from a big Toyota to a 17 plate Jazz and my 2 kids car seats don't fit in properly and suffer from "buckle crunch". One trip to the local Halfords later and I have come up blank, partially as I was wanting to get the same seat for both kids (2 & 4).
So what child seats are people using? Is buckle crunch a common problem for the Jazz?

I have not got a clue what buckle crunch is but the Jazz has standard ISOFIX seat mountings that child seats clip into.

Try a Britax First Class SI

Use the Fit Finder to check....

Buckle crunch is where the seat can move in an accident and wreck the plastic of the buckle and cause the seat to come loose at a bad moment.
Just having isofix doesn't mean crunch isn't still and issue, seats often now have "isoflex" so the seat still moves and hits the buckle.
Britax are infuriating and have declared that all of their seats fit in all cars, but owners should check they fit. I have the Britax Evolve 123 seat ATM and it is way too big. Tried the Prince and kidfix ii today and both are no good. Will see if anyone has the first-class so I can give it a go.

Between me and a trained car seat fitter (yes, you get those apparently) the Jazz has 3 things that make it hard to fit a kids seat - the seats are narrow, this is not unusual in smaller cars but can be an issue with bigger seats. The bench is flat, which combined with slightly higher seated isofix points results in the chair resting higher than it should so that you can pass your hand under the seat when you should get a nice neat fit.
But we did find 2 seats in our hunt that fitted well so in case anyone is interested -
The Halfords Essential Group 1 seat

And
Britax Advancifix III

I have a list of about 8 that don't fit for various reasons, but those 2 are good.

Thanks for the info, my grandbrats are big teenage sized but all info is useful, even if not to me. At least I now know what crunched buckles are! :-)
