Shock Absorber

Hi All

I now have 2 Honda Jazz, the first a 2006 automatic model and the second a 2010 amnual model, sold my fist Jazz which was a 2003 car.
Anyway, told need to replace the shock absorber on the fron drivers side on the 2006 Auto Model, my question is I was going to buy a used shocker off ebay ( although may not as a local motor factor has now said they can supply a new one for just £55 all inclusive)
Anyway my question is will a shock absorber off any 2002 to 2008 GDi model fit my 2006 Automatic 1.4i Jazz

thanks

Best practice is to change them in axle sets, so a front pair.

Front struts will be minus spring, so the old one will need compressing to remove and be transferred to the new strut.

Not 100% sure about your question. Others may know better. What I can say is that according to the KYB catalogue, they are handed (L & R) and that one pair of part numbers refer to those units fitted up to 03/2005 and a different pair of part numbers for those units fitted from 04/2005. They may well be physically interchangeable, but the damping rates might be different.

Thanks for that, I think you maybe right there, never thought about damping rates but yes there was a change from 2005 to 2008  so I best get some from a 2005 onwards car
ps the part numbers on my shockers are Left side 51602 SAA E520 M1 and Right side it's 51601 SAA E520 M1

I am told all the honda catalogue no`s are different but the part on the schematics look exactly the same  (from 2002 to 2008) so I assume they are all interchangable but as has been said damping rates maybe different
maybe the main thing is to make sure the main part no: 51601 SAA  matches but agin not sure, any thoughts welcome
