Spare wheel for '09 Jazz EX
« on: April 14, 2016, 09:27:50 AM »
Hi,
I bought a Honda Jazz EX last year but it didn't come with a spare wheel. Will any space saver wheel advertised for a MkII Jazz fit? I thought some models came with different wheel sizes but not sure if this matters.
Also, do I need any extra bits to secure it in the boot?

Many thanks,
Tom

Rather than mess about with a space saver have a look on ebay and you will be able to get a wheel that matches the others and then put a decent tyre on it. The spare wheel well will hold a full size spare. You will need a bolt to fasten it down ( I think it is an M8). A bit of ingenuity will soon get you sorted.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have another look in the boot and see what's what. I couldn't see any immediately obvious fixing points...

You need to cut a small hole in the carpet, to expose the central threaded hole.......  ;)

Remove the carpet first....to find the threaded hole......then cut! If you cut three sides of a square, then you can fold the flap back in if you want to restore the carpet hole at any time and you'll have an invisible repair. The fixing bolt and washer from Honda isn't that expensive and is easy to obtain.

As far as I'm aware the spacesaver wheel is the same for both 15" and 16" wheels.

Picked up a couple of the fixing bolt & washers from the scrapyard if anyone is in need of one.

Thanks all for the advice. I'll keep an eye out for a wheel and fixing bolts.

Thanks Ozzie. I see it's now for sale on here. Would it be OK to run this with the 16" alloys? What tyre size does it take?
