Space Saver - Car Signage
« on: May 16, 2012, 12:22:56 PM »
I have read many postings of people's experiences of using Space Saver wheels whilst on the motorway and many were unhappy about following vehicles tailgating them.

To my mind the problem is that the following drivers have no idea why the car in front is travelling at between 40-50mph and causing them a certain amount of frustration, therefore I decided to get a sign company to make me some magnetic signs that could be attached to my car when I had a Space Saver fitted.

Two of the signs are 50mph restricted signs and the other is one that the sign company made in the colours and wording that I selected basically it informs followings drivers that I am "Using - SPACE SAVER - wheel".

The cost of the signage came to a total of £17.20 including post and packing.

I thought the cost of the signs was very reasonable.

The 50mph ones shown in the photo were basically stock item just had to request the 50mph and 80kph figures as they do other speed configurations for that sign.

I spent a number of hours doing various mock-ups of the 'Using - SPACE SAVER - wheel' sign changing colours and wordage but finally settled on the red/white combination, thought the least number of words used the better.

Just sent an image and details of the maximum space available on the car for the sign and left the type of font and final size of sign (610mm x 150mm) to the sign makers, I have included contact details of firm who made the signs in case anyone is interested.

The people who supplied the signs are KINGDOM Signs.

Great idea. You deserve to make some ££s as the originator of the idea.
