I have been using Nexen N'Priz or N'BLUE 4s . These are all seasons tyres so can take ice Me snow. Around £38 on eBay. My mechanic fits them me! Done around 20k miles and still have around 4mm left.

My Honda dealer fitted 2 Riken tyres to the front of my Jazz. They obviously were not worried about supplying me with Premium tyres!

We are talking Michelin, Dunlop, Pirelli, Goodyear and the like. The names you associate with tyres. The dear ones!

My Honda dealer only keeps Dunlop tyres in stock in the size my EX uses, I get a good deal and excellent vservice from local independent tyre centres.

Currently running Avons and Kumho tyres. They were the cheapest non-budget tyres on Blackcircles or Halfords last time I purchased tyres. I'd never heard of Kumho but BMW choose them as OEM tyre supplier for the MINI John Cooper Works GP - the fastest production previous shape [BMW] MINI - so they must be a reputable supplier.

Kumho tyres have been around for some time. Always used to be a worthwhile buy.

I prefer Michelins as they seem to give the best with longevity and grip, if you want more grip, you lose on longevity, and vice versa.

Auto Express did a tyre test here:
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/91856/tyre-reviews-best-car-tyres-2017

Continental was ranked top, whilst Dunlop and Kumho were in the Top 5.
