Has anyone else found it funny that there is no clear 30mph marker on the Jazz speedometer . I find this quite awkward when the law is about with their speed guns .

It is amazing how many different cars from different manufacturers opt for that set up.
On my Jazz there is a mark for 30 mph, just no number.

Yes - odd isn't it and loads of makes are the same. 30, 50 and 70 all crucial speed limits on UK roads.

140 mph..... as a child this was our way of figuring out who had the faster family car. This may be psychological, but if the normal maximum speed (104?) was all the way round to the end stop might we all drive a bit slower? Seeing the needle in the middle gives an impression of using only half capability although it's in the best place for visibility.

Quite a lot of 20/40/60 roads so it all balances out I guess.

My Jazz will do 140 mph. It must do, it says it on the speedometer. Never tried it though.
There was a time, in the US, when car speedometers were only allowed to go up to 85 mph. Even your Ferraris, and the like, had 85 mph clocks. When I was in California, in December 86, my hire car was so equipped, with a big blue 55 on the dial (that was the speed limit then).
