Auto window switch for passenger side
« on: April 09, 2017, 03:45:12 PM »
Afternoon all.

Is it possible to install an auto switch for the front passenger or all other passenger Windows. I have four electric Windows but driver is auto or one touch....

Can you just swap a switch over for the auto or is there more to it than that?

Many thanks

Ryan

Looking at http://www.hondafitjazz.com/manual/ > Wiring Diagrams > #8 Power Windows it looks just about possible, but would need the travel limit detection circuit attached to each motor plus additional memory/control modules* from the driver's door panel, plus 5 position switches instead of 3 position.  I would hope they were universal non-handed parts so that salvage items from a RHD car could be cannibalised and would suffice.

* for the safety auto-reverse & window auto travel limits re-learn procedure by holding the switch in up or down position for an extra 3+ seconds after disconnecting the battery.

All in it's something that might be more easily achieved with your own micro-controller circuit, but it leaves me with an observation - the sunroof has a manual overide, but the windows do not seem to have the same facility.
