Car beeps when I switch it on?

I have just bought a new '07 Jazz Se CVT and when I switch the ignition on it gives 6 beeps.
Can anyone tell me why, and is it ok?
Have looked through the manual and can't find anything!

i think you may be referring to the seatbelt reminder..... try putting the belt on then turn the key. you will also have a flashing red light within the speedo.... until it stops beeping when it will go solid. every 30 seconds it will start beeping at you again until you put your seatbelt on.
