Very sad news. Captain Tom lost his last fight. What a true gent and an inspiration to all.

Sad news. I thought when the reports said his family were with him, it was only a matter of time.

Going to be a scandal the way they exploited him, bussing him everywhere to open this that and the other and putting him at such risk. BA flew him on a holiday just before Christmas and he came back and got pneumonia! Tragic. Poor man.

He seemed a very nice old chap, who was lucky enough to drop on a need the country had to focus on something positive. Some might say he was over 80 and had had his life... but it makes me sad to think of anyone that has had a loved family member taken from them.
