Jaguar Land Rover recall
« on: March 14, 2019, 01:18:36 PM »
So it looks as though Jaguar Land Rover have been caught out with emissions not meeting their certified limits.
44,000 vehicles are having to be recalled because they emit more CO2 than they are certified for.

A hint of Volkswagen in the air?

It is all a matter of scale, VW had cheated on pretty much every vehicle they ever made, not just a %age.
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

The longer they put it off before owning up (or getting caught) the less shocked people are because when you've already heard it about many times it doesn't have the same impact, VW have already taken the big hit for it, I'd be amazed if there aren't more to come.
I think reliability is a bigger issue at the moment for Land Rover or at least looking after their customers when things go wrong, I've heard no end of stories (including people I actually know) saddled with big bills (£5000+) for common faults in gearboxes out of warranty but well within the expected lifetime of any gearbox. They don't do themselves any favours keeping long term customers, this appears to be where the Japanese and Korean manufacturers appear to do better. Once you p!*s off someone enough to leave your brand it's almost impossible to get them back. Sorry if I sent a bit off topic.

This has happened to me with two manufacturers. Peugeot and FIAT. I will never buy either of these marques again, irrespective of how well they do in future surveys.
