Many of us have no problem with RDMS.  Others find they get used to it.   Maybe give it a chance  first rather than rush to learn how to switch it off.

My first encounter with it was when I deliberately went across a white line with no need to indicate

It was to cut a corner on an empty road with hundreds of yards of forward visibility to smooth my direction.

When it wobbled the steering wheel and gave me an orange dash alert I decided immediately that it wasn't for me

No way was I going to 'get used' to it

But, if you are happy to accept it then fair enough

...Deliberately invoking a system and then deciding you don't like it and switching it off every time thereafter still makes no sense.

You've condemned it before even trying it properly.

As you say each to their own.

I’m convinced re RDMS, whether you like it or not, depends on the type of road that you normally drive on.
For me, when driving on country lanes, I consider it to be downright dangerous, because when you pull in close to the verge to miss an oncoming car, the system tries to steer me, away from the verge and into the path of that oncoming car!!!
No, I will do without it, thank you very much >:( >:(

As above posts, you will have to make your own mind up

Let us know which camp you are in after your testing :)

Settlement of £5k5 is in my bank. Exactly the value I stated on the insurance form, and far more that I expected them to offer.

That seems like a very fair settlement to me. Pleased it got sorted. Which insurer was that?

I had the insurance through Adrian Flux but would rather not mention the actual insurer as although the settlement was good the 'front facing' staff who I had to deal with on the phone were less than satisfactory.
