Yes, thanks. I am 3 floors up, but there is no sign of anything near me. Think most of Kirkcaldy has been fine, but Glenrothes has caught it big time.

There has been a minor landslip at Pettycur Bay Caravan park, which has closed the main A921 between Burntisland and Kinghorn.

A thunderstorm started yesterday evening and continued all night. The lightning was continuous, but the rain came in bouts. It was still going when I woke up at 7 am and continued until after 8.

We stayed in Glenrothes Jocko for four years when I was at Leuchars. We were up hill in the Caskieberran district opposite the golf course in blocks of maisonettes.

Issue identified in Central Scotland with xDSL Services
New incident: Identified
A Major Service Outage is currently affecting BT xDSL Services in Central Scotland. This is due to severe weather overnight and flooding in BT's Edinburgh Exchange. BT have indicated that this is affecting over 100,000 users.

BT Engineers are currently removing the flood water from the premises and making the building safe to restore power. At this point BT are estimating that it could take up to 12 hours to restore service.

This is our local hospital, here in Kirkcaldy.

The caravan is behind the slip as the video on this link shows.

The big issue now is the serious train crash near Stonehaven.

I can't remember Jocko. What I can say is that as you drove up hill on the edge of town the golf course clubhouse was on the right and you turned left into the block of maisonettes where we lived. There were five blocks altogether but not all accessed from the same road.

I'm a bit out with my memory of the location Jocko but I have looked on Google maps and Waverley Drive rings a bell.
I think the blocks were due for demolishing.

Ok. That's well away from where I was looking. It's not off the golf course road, which confused me.

One thing we have Covid to be thankful for is that yesterday's train crash had so few victims. That an intercity express, between Aberdeen and Glasgow had only nine souls aboard was a miracle. In normal times imagine how many could have been aboard.

Yes you are absolutely right a very sobering thought, even so my thoughts are with the family’s that are grieving at this very sad time.

It's a long time ago that we lived in Glenrothes Jocko, the memory fades. We lived there for four years from January 1973 to January 1977.
