The road in question is a bus route, subject to a 20mph speed limit. Buses, can pass astride the humps and certainly travel at more than 20mph in this road.
And yet, outside where my Downe's Syndrome Sister in Law lives in assisted living is the back entrance to a primary school. Come turning out time the road is completely blocked by mothers. In my Sister in Laws case she is end stage dementia, the other residents all have varying needs. Recently the Dr was called, a not infrequent occurrence, and finding the entrance to the house completely blocked asked a nice mother to move. Not only did she refuse but the Dr learned a few more 'words'.
I believe the front entrance to the school is verboten as the residents complain about the nuisance.
Still in Launceston the same occurs even blocking the entrance to the police station so what hope have you. I am afraid nothing has changed even in my day, mothers were always on about the danger to their kids BUT when it came to them parking near the school all concern went out the window.
