door lock removal jazz 2003

I have replaced the front passenger door and want to fit the lock from the old door.
The service manual shows a circlip that needs to be removed before the lock barrel can be released.

I cannot see the circlip. Is the circlip easy to see or is it hidden?

 I have used a small mirror to look behind the brass plate and I think I can see a circlip but I am not sure.
If it is the circlip, how does one remove it and then replace it in such a tight space?
Any advice would be much appreciated?
