81V or 82V tyres ??
« on: March 08, 2010, 05:08:39 PM »
I have just had a new pair of Bridgestone Potenzas fitted to the front of my Jazz 20008 Sport i have noticed that the old tyres were marked 82V where as the new ones are marked 81V does it make any difference as they are the same spec in every other way.
many thanks for any replies.

It does make a difference.

The numbers you refer to are the load rating for the tyre.

Basically the higher the number the more load the tyre can take.

82V are load rated at 475 kg and 149mph speed rated, whereas

81V are load rated at 462 kg and 149 mph speed rated.

You should buy exactly the same as the originals tyre's marking's not a tyre that rated less for obvious reasons.
