Changing battery in key remote.
« on: October 02, 2017, 02:01:28 PM »
I checked the manual and I didn’t see anything. I see a small screw on the back. Is it as simple as replacing the battery or will it cause the remote to stop working / need re-programming?

Normal battery?

Th key works but I thought to change it as occasionally I’ve had to press it a couple of times to get it to work.

Thanks.

I think it's a 2032 button battery.
Just replace and it will work, no problem.

If a new battery doesn't cure it then it's the little push switches that are worn; I used to change loads of those when I was in work.

I tried to unscrew it using a smalll screw driver but it started to round the head. I did it carefully and thought it was the exact fit head.

Anyway, any suggestions on next step. I can continue and see if i can undo it - unlikely, but if successful I won’t be able to use that screw again. And if it does completely round the head what’s the best solution?

Buy new case? From where?

It didn’t even need changing :'( I was just being pro active.

You could always take it to your local Honda dealer and give them the problem.

This will/would have been useful had I opened my key fob.

Battery is cr1616
