Different model of Jazz
« on: April 03, 2013, 02:34:52 PM »
Hi all,

I am newbie here and I am prepare to get my wife a Jazz. we both love the sport version (2004-2008) so it have body kit and the front fogs. I think due to the sport on the V5 the insurance got up around £200 more than the normal 1.4 SE.

can I ask apart from the kit and the fogs is there any difference on the car itself? should I better just get a SE version and find a kit and the skirt and fogs to make it like a sport version or just get one on the market?

Many thanks.

Hi,
I looked at a "sport" model and checked the insurance quotes and the cost went up considerably just because of the word "sport" in the car's title. I bought a non sport model.

JazzB - I can stand with differnet colour but will it be different when you sit on it? is it more comfort on the sport model.

I had a Almera Gti before and the seat is much better than the normal one.

Thanks.

Thanks John,

that is what I check and see it is £150 more a year on insurance. ( I got 13 years licence and at lease 10 years + NCB) hence I am asking this.

but we really like the boby kit & fogs etc...

Its just the colour of the seats etc their the same as the SE model. You don't get a 'sports type' seat.

More black colour interior in the sport model.

If you just get the SE model and then add the additional stuff on (bodykit, fogs etc), you probably end up paying the same insurance after declaring it to your insurance company (well, maybe not £200 worth but its your call)

I'm surprised with the insurance hike with your insurance background though....

Insurance companies are run for shareholder profit not the benefit of their customers, hence any excuse to charge more £££££.

I always search around for insurance: easy to do. My hourly rate doing so based on the savings I make  (£30-£50) must be over £200  as you can use most all of the comparison sites in under 15 minutes.

Thanks for all the comment. however the one I view locally has just sold. what is the right price for the SE version and the sport version?

I am looking for a 54 - 06 plate, not more than 70,000 miles. of cos more history will be better.

I know it is still hard to judge the price but the price barely drop for a year.

many thanks  ;D

i think for a decent sport model with low mileage you will be looking at around 4k-5k. i seen some sport models with low mileage for about 3k-3.5k but i sensed something was just not right when speaking on the phone to the owners. Some 10 year old sport models with 90k+ mileage still going for over 3.5k!
good thing about jazz's are that they have good resale value as you would have noticed. So thats why i didnt mind shelling out a bit more for a "bit more".
