Over the last couple of days, I started hearing a rattling from underneath the car, more or less under the driver's side. Today was Saturday, and I need the car next week, so I went to Kwik-Fit. The guy just reached under the car and pulled the piece of metal which been rattling, and it came clean away.
As far as I can see, It was the rear fixing which had rusted away, and obviously the front fixing was liable to go any time. That might have been spectacular on the M25...
He said it was a heat shield, but that made no sense to me. Reading threads here, I assume it's a shield for the cat. Here's a photo - is that right?
I've seen one or two replies from forum members suggesting there's no problem just leaving the shield off altogether. If so, why did Honda fit one? Does anyone know?
I'd appreciate any thoughts.
