Here it it. ;)

This is the easiest and most pleasing mod. Takes no more than 20 minutes. So much better than a horizontal blade that collects all the dust and dirt, shortening the life of the blade. On the mk2, the spindle just slides out and you them re-position it in the opposite hole in the white gear. No plastic clip to break and all completely reversible if you change your mind. BRILLIANT.

Just waiting for my new blade to arrive from Euro Car Parts and I'm sorted. The one that's on at present is a Bosch and has only lasted about 12 months.

Or, alternatively, you could just clean the rubber ocasionally.........

What, like everyday? and that doesn't stop the snow piling up on the blade.

From memory cars with rear wipers used to park in the upright position (which is the commonsense way to leave the blade as stiggysawdust says) - I'm guessing some health and safety numpty decided that it may obscure rear view from car, and we ended up with the no brainer horizontal wiper blade.

leaving the blade vertical also keeps a lot of mid-day sun off it - and the sun is what perishes the rubber and cracks it.

Another mod worth doing is to turn the rear washer jet to spray 45deg across  the screen (it is set at factory to spray straight down the screen and most of the washer fluid misses the wiper and goes onto rear door /  bumper) spraying across the screen leaves more of the liquid on the screen for the wiper to use.

Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot
