« on: June 22, 2008, 04:45:16 PM »
ok guys wife has 02 plate jazz , brakes operating well but every time you break it squeeks is this the discs??? tried taking off wheel trims and flushing wheels with hose...

going to get it serviced with the next 4 weeks .... its just over 75k and has always been to honda dealership was bought in so reckon worth paying the inflated price but will get brakes sorted before

also in last 2 weeks when car idles there is a squueling noise from belt(pully) left of engine  .. owner handbook directs to compressor belt, making noise with no a/c or fans on... any ideas??? dont want to spray wd40 etc on imagine this would be part of service ie belt adj???   Belt does not look worn

thanks
 in advance

Squeaky brakes are normally cured by taking the pads out (undo the upper/lower guide bolts of caliper and remove) and give them a good clean around the front and rear area of the pads and caliper holder using a wire brush.  Apply some copper grease on the rear of the pads and lobes and refit.  Since you've covered more then 75k miles it's probably on it's 2nd set of disc/pads so worth considering replacing if worn.

The squeaky belt most probably requires a replacement or may just require the tension to be checked out.
