« on: May 23, 2019, 04:59:37 PM »
hi all my 2010 jazz shift has done  31000, miles  the previous owner when he had the car had it standing for long periods of no use ie - from one mot to the next he only did 150 miles?? I have been given 3 its of honda MTF Fluid as I believe this is the correct oil for the Gearbox  would it be good practice to replace the oil now after 8 years ??? or leave it to 85000 that apparently honda say when to change??? would i see any difference??? what does everyone think???

As you already have new fresh oil. I would change it.
The original oil could be contaminated by condensation and old age.

150 miles in 12 month's is terrible.

Change engine oil as well.

Honda change for manual box ( an I-shift is an automated manual box ) is 70,000 miles.

I would change every fluid in the car, engine, gearbox, brake fluid and if it has aircon fitted the lack of use may have killed it..
