You have a 1.2 litre base model (S). It is made in Japan, The GD5 tells you it is a European model.
The S has steel wheels, no keyless entry, and no rear speakers (unless someone has fitted them themselves).
It has an i-DSi engine, which has 8 spark plugs (2 per cylinder). How do I know all this? I have the same!

The S does not come with A/C. This is the spec as quoted in Parkers:

3x3 point rear seat belts
ABS
Body coloured bumpers
CD
Central locking
Cloth seat trim
Driver`s airbag
Electric mirrors
Folding rear seats
Front electric windows
Heated mirrors
Isofix child seat anchor points
PAS
Passenger`s airbag
Space saver spare wheel
Steering wheel rake adjustment

although, I don't think I have heated mirrors!

I have the original keys for my 56 plate S, and there are no buttons on either of them.

You can download a free Users manual here: https://www.manualslib.com/download/811004/Honda-Jazz.html if you do not already have it.

I was under the impression they all had heated mirrors. If you do have heated mirrors, they should come on with the rear demister.

Bear in mind the spec may be different where the OP is.

GD5 is the European spec, the same as mine.

Rear demister works fine, but it does nothing to the mirrors. I would have thought both mirrors having gone open circuit unlikely. Cars that do have heated mirrors don't have a secondary fuse after the demister fuse.

 Thanks folks for the answers

1) There is a specific button marked A/C with a blue light  above the heater dials and below the radio, to the left of it is the recirculation lever, and to the left of that is the demister button.

2) The demister button has on it a dual outline of the rear window AND the mirrors.

This is the reason for my question - the spec seems to be off

Can post a photo if needed.

The fact you have manual aircon suggests it's an SE. An obvious confirmation of this would be if you have front and rear electric windows.
My Haynes says the heated mirrors are on a separate fuse (F19 20A) to the heated rear window. Will be behind a panel on the shelf below the steering wheel.
Finally I'm curious, have you tried to see if you get cold air from the air con? It could just be the switch light.

Or is it? What do you think?

Mine says the same, but that is at odds with the online wiring diagram, and I have not found the Haynes manual schematics all that helpful. It suggests the mirrors come off the heater rear window wiring. 12*28
I won't worry about it. In almost 3 years motoring there has only been one occasion I could have done with them. The next time I am in the fuse box, for any reason, I'll check out F19.

Here is a pic of the console

Cold air does seem to come out.  However it is february...

It is manual wind for the back windows

I should add this is in Dublin.

If the fan speed is set to 'Off' the aircon will not work.

Oh of course.

I suppose my main question remaining  - it appears I have aircon

is around my non-working key with two buttons.   ( lock and unlock ) .    I'd prefer to have remote unlock and lock so I want to run it to ground... should it work ?  How would I tell

CSL99's photograph shows mirror and rear screen on the demister button. Mine only shows rear screen, so perhaps my mirrors are not heated.

CSL99. Does it have alloy wheels?
