Desperate to find a GD1 2003 service manual!!!  as the local honda dealership doesnt seem to stock them anymore.

Welcome. Are you referring to the service booklet that comes with the car? It doesn't tell you very much. Slightly better (but not great) is the Haynes Repair Manual (ISBN-10: 085733977X  ISBN-13: 978-0857339775).
