Unusual 'Noise' whilst driving
« on: September 25, 2018, 11:58:10 AM »
My 07 Jazz 1.4 automatic which I have only had for a few months and which has only done 25k miles seems to have developed a 'noise' whilst driving (not when in Neutral or coasting with no engine).

Not quite a whining noise but a pitch higher than the engine revs but in sync with them. So putting power on you can hear the engine revs increasing and at the same time an increasing higher pitched noise?

You can rev the engine in neutral and can also roll down a hill with the engine off (checking for wheel bearing noise) and this additional noise isn't heard.

As with many things this is intermittent. I'm having an annual service soon but wonder if this whining in sync with the engine revs whilst driving is a known issue with these automatics please?

TIA
