Auto Gearstick Surround
« on: September 29, 2015, 10:41:48 AM »
Second post, second question

09 Jazz auto (6 speed manual with computer clutch) The 'silver' surround between the moving gearstick and centre tray has got a bit scuffed.

It it removable by its self, or do I have to take the whole part out to dismantle it for spraying?

Hello Mr Onion,

I realise that my car is a manual and your car may be different, however there may be similarities. This is a link to the work I carried out on my 1.4es manual gear lever surround.

Apologies if it doesn't help. :(

All the best.

Excellent. Thats exactly the same as mine (other than the cut out for the gear shift of course)

Not quite as easy as I had hoped, but seems a simple enough job.

Many thanks

I believe Mr Onion is talking about an I shift.  If he looks at Lings Honda website there he will find  a parts list. The list does not go beyond 2009 but you can get all the info from there. Just follow the prompts.
Unfortunately true to Honda prices you will have a shock.
The plastic surround for the I shift gear lever is according to their list part no PFKL2002713 Cover Escutcheon *NH683L*   at £ 54.06
Might I suggest a breakers. Also don't break the gear change mechanism as this is eye watering.
Good hunting.
Also a good site is http://hondafitjazz.com/manuals3/index.html click onto I think it's right 'English manuals' where all the secrets are revealed. The English Manuals gives you bigger pictures and is easier to print.

Yes Neddy, its an iShift but I don't plan to replace the surround, just remove and respray it. Theres no damage other than the paint wear, so it should be easy(ish)
