rattle when accelerating
« on: March 11, 2011, 01:32:21 AM »
has anyone else with a 1.2 i-vtec (or even a 1.4 i-vtec) noticed a metalic noise when accelerating from cold, it goes a lot quieter when warmed up and it is only when putting power on, cruising along the road with other cars it is silent and also silent when revving it whilst parked.

i can hear it if i open the bonnet round the alternator belt side, what are the chances of a bad bearing on a brand new car ?

ive just come from a 1.6 se civic ep2 which had a cam belt and the jazz is the first car ive had with a chain cam so i dont know if it normal or not, ive heared chains are louder than belts

thanks for your help in advance

I have the same problem.  Did you ever find out where this noise was coming from?
