Internet changes.
« on: March 27, 2019, 06:42:40 AM »
The European parliament has introduced new legislation around new links in internet sites. These copyright laws will prevent links, such as this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-47708144 unless the site owner has a licence, bought and paid for. I am sure Richard will be able to add further to this story.

No idea whatsoever.

Nothing about this from the (US-based) developers of the forum software we use. Then again, then was some head stratching over there when GDPR came out before a solution was hastily conducted.

individuals are exempted, it's for likes of news & official blog sites sharing stories including links to other sites.
I'll bet a waiver sentence in forum T's & C's could cover things ;)

It's for EU digital single market & supposing UK goes through with brexit would it even apply to UK based sites? Not to mention most apparently UK sites aren't UK hosted
