best/cheapest place in the US to get coil packs?
« on: February 21, 2018, 12:17:28 AM »
Hi all,

What's the best/cheapest place in the US to get coil packs (CM11-108 I believe) for my Fit?

It's an '03, 1.5L JDM model.  Parts are ridiculously expensive here, but I'll be in the US for a bit soon, so was thinking to pick one up while there.

I've tried the AliExpress versions once before on a different Fit.  I had mixed results, so would probably prefer to go a bit higher quality this time around.

Thanks in advance!

Most of the members on here are based in the United Kingdom, there are a few in the US, but I'm not sure how many. You might have better luck with a question like this on a dedicated US Honda Fit forum.

Rock Auto seems to be the place

The only car I have ever replaced a coil pack on was my wifes Fiat (which is quite normal because Italians have never understood electricity ) - The thing that normally kills coils is letting the spark plug gap get too large (which happens on GD rear coils because sometimes plugs get left in too long due to fact most garages do not know they are there) this causes the coil to be stressed by generating more and more voltage to jump the gap until inevitably the coil pack insulation fails and arcs over. Combined with the heat from exhaust manifold the rear coils get a hard life.

Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

Yeah I am an electrical engineer, I know who volta is but that was the high point of Italian involvement with electricity. We have an Italian cooker hood with a thermal cut out that trips as soon as you turn the gas on, and don't mention Ducati electrics..or Fiat ( as I found out to my cost).
