14,000 from the original front tyres, 16,000 from the replacement Pirelli's.... How does this compare to your experiences ?

When I chopped my GD for a new GE, the tyres had done 13,000 and still looked like new!

The general rule is that the softer and more 'sporting' the tyre the shorter its life.

Motorbike tyres are a good example, they are very soft and although they are much bigger diameter than car tyres they only normally do 3K to 5K before replacement.

I have used 'normal profile' Michelin 'Energy' and 'Energy savers' for a number of years on different cars now and find them very quiet running and to have a pretty long life (around about 30K).  The flexible sidewalls also help with the 'firm' Jazz suspension.
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

The original Bridgestone Protenzas are still OK at 26k. The dealer mentioned at service time (@22k) that the tyres may not last until the next service based on my mileage (of about 11-11.5k per year). I reckon they should last until at least 30k.
