Seat Belt
« on: November 14, 2015, 12:03:31 AM »
Just bought a 2011 Jazz and I have a question which I hope Jazz owners out there can answer.
First of all, I used to have a 2005 Jazz whereby if I extended the entire length of the seat belt and start to release back to its original position, it would click and lock if I attempted to pull it. The only way to pull it back out again is if it was retracted all the way back to its original position.

This is useful to set a fixed length belt to thread through a baby seat (the old fashioned way)

On my 2011 Jazz it doesn't click and lock as above. It still functions expected, i.e. pull it fast and belt locks.

Can Jazz owners out there share whether your seat belt click and lock?

Thanks for sharing.

Does it mention anything in the Owners' handbook?

I don't know if they still had them for MY2011, but if it does have them, it should be mentioned in the book, or on a label attached to the bottom of the belt. The function you refer to is "Automatic Locking Reel" or ALR.
