Title: Immobilizer issue
Post by: guest7862 on August 09, 2018, 10:43:39 PM
Hi all. I am in a bit of a bind. Hoping you can help.

I have a 2002 jazz 1.2 and the ignition key would not turn. I ended up taking apart the ignition cylinder and removing the broken wafer. When I took it back out to test it seemed to work just fine. Then when I screwed it all back together it will crank but not start and the green key is blinking.

I ordered a new ignition cylinder only to realize that needs to be synced to the ecu. At this point what are my options? Im looking for the cheapest solution possible!

Thanks!

Welcome. There is normally a sensor ring round or in the vicinity of the barrel which detects the key. Something like this:

Check you have not disturbed the wiring.
The only things that are paired are the ECU and the key chip.
