what happens when a train hits a car
« on: August 17, 2020, 01:44:37 PM »
Good video from Jezza Clarkson about what can happen if you don't wear a hi-viz jacket... warning - he is a bit gratuitously ageist as well.

Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

It's better to be in a vehicle built like a nuclear flask so the train comes off worst from the encounter http://www.old-dalby.com/Crash.htm . The mpg of such a vehicle, hower, might not be very good.

I was involved in the design and testing of those flasks.  Brings back fond memories of my early career.

I once was investigating the damages caused by a train hitting to an armored vehicle. Quite different results, but beyond feasible repair anyhow.
